About Epic Roofing — Family-Built in Mandeville, Working Across the Greater South Louisiana Area

Most South Louisiana roofers fall into two patterns. The national franchises send a sales rep who has never been on your roof. The post-storm out-of-state contractors disappear when the warranty claim comes in. Epic Roofing was built to be the third pattern — Louisiana-licensed, Mandeville-headquartered, owner on-site for most consultations, the same crew on every job, and a written photo record of every roof we touch.

We are a local roofer with nationally credentialed installation standards. Three IBHS FORTIFIED designations, CertainTeed ShingleMaster, Atlas Pro Plus, McElroy Metal partner, and DaVinci Roofscapes Authorized Installer. Every estimate we write includes photos and a clear scope. Every installation we run is documented in CompanyCam so the homeowner gets the exact same record we keep. The call goes to a real person on a Mandeville line — never an out-of-state call center. (225) 819-3742.

How Epic Roofing Started

Joey Noto earned his Construction Management degree at LSU in 2006, in the program that produced most of the working construction managers across the I-10 corridor. He spent the next decade running commercial construction projects out of Baton Rouge — concrete, steel, project schedules in the millions of dollars, the kind of work where a missed sequencing detail costs a developer six figures.

After fifteen years of commercial work, he founded Epic Roofing in Mandeville in 2020 with a specific thesis: residential roofing in South Louisiana was being run worse than commercial work for no good reason. Commercial projects were run on documented specs, photo-recorded installation verification, and warranty discipline because the owner's lender required it. Residential roofs got installed on handshake quotes, undocumented installs, and warranties no one could find when the leak appeared in year three. Epic Roofing was built to meet residential-to-commercial standards — written, photo-documented scopes, CompanyCam installation records, manufacturer-tier installation credentials, and a transferable workmanship warranty in writing.

The company has grown from the original Mandeville crew into the greater South Louisiana area — Northshore first, then Baton Rouge, then expansion through the I-10 / I-12 corridor into the New Orleans suburbs, Livingston, Ascension, and the river parishes. Same crew framework on every project, same install standard regardless of zip code.

How We Work

Three things separate Epic Roofing from most LA residential roofers, and all three are visible on the homeowner's side of the project:

Same crew, start to finish

We do not run subcontractor crews, day-laborer crews, or franchise-style hand-offs. The crew that meets you at the first inspection is the crew that runs the tear-off, the install, and the final cleanup. The foreman who quotes the job is the foreman on site. This matters because install consistency is the single largest variable in long-term roof performance — a crew that knows the spec, the homeowner, and the local code office runs a measurably tighter job than a crew rotating through subcontractors.

Documented top-to-bottom in CompanyCam

Every Epic Roofing project — retail, post-storm, repair, full reroof — gets photographed at every phase inside CompanyCam, the construction industry's documentation standard. The homeowner receives the photo record at project completion, the same record we keep internally. When a warranty question comes up in year four, we both have the installation evidence in writing. When an insurance claim revisits the loss after a future event, the homeowner has the documented baseline. The photo record is not an upcharge — it is how we run every job.

Owner on-site for most consultations

Joey runs most of the first consultations himself — drone flight, attic check where accessible, scope walk-through with the homeowner. On the rare occasions a foreman handles the initial visit, Joey reviews the scope before any quote goes out. This is the wedge against the national-franchise sales-rep model — the person you're talking to on the consultation is the person whose name is on the LA roofing license and whose insurance covers the project, not a commissioned rep two levels removed from the work.

Credentials We Hold

Epic Roofing carries the install-tier credentials that matter for the products we install and the certifications homeowners actually care about for insurance, warranty, and resale. None of these credentials is a vendor freebie — each requires documented install history, ongoing training, and renewal.

  • Louisiana Licensing — LA Residential Building Contractor RL886377 · LA Commercial CL69991 · Fully Insured
  • IBHS FORTIFIED — FORTIFIED Roofer designation (3 separate IBHS-approved credentials, all earned 2023) — required to certify roofs to the FORTIFIED Roof, Silver, and Gold tiers and to coordinate the $10,000 LA Roof Grant. See FORTIFIED roofing.
  • CertainTeed — ShingleMaster — top-tier CertainTeed credential covering Landmark Pro, Presidential, and NorthGate ClimateFlex install certification
  • Atlas Roofing — Pro Plus Contractor — Pinnacle Pro / StormMaster Slate / StormMaster Shake install certification
  • McElroy Metal — Authorized installer for Maxima, MasterRib, and Curveline standing-seam and curved-panel systems
  • DaVinci Roofscapes — Authorized Installer — Bellaforté Slate, Multi-Width Slate, Single-Width Slate, Bellaforté Shake composite product lines

Photo verification of every credential is on file with each manufacturer; we will pull the credential package for any homeowner who wants to verify before the install starts.

What Epic Will Not Do

Some of the most important aspects of an LA roofer are the boundaries they uphold. Epic Roofing explicitly does not do the following, and the reason for each line is straight from how we built the company:

  1. We do not file insurance claims for homeowners. Louisiana RS 22:1684 reserves that work for licensed public adjusters; Epic Roofing is a roofer, not a public adjuster. We document damage, write the scope, deliver the photo package, and attend the adjuster meeting on the roof. The claim itself is filed by the homeowner.
  2. We do not chase storms across state lines. Epic Roofing is a Louisiana company with a Louisiana address, Louisiana licenses, and a Louisiana phone number. When a roof installed in 2023 needs warranty service in 2029, we will be at the same Mandeville address.
  3. We do not run subcontractor crews on residential projects. The crew that builds your roof works for Epic Roofing, not for a temp staffing service or a regional labor broker. Same wages, same training, same accountability.
  4. We do not promise the lowest price. We promise the documented scope, the credentialed install, and the photographed record. Several published-rate LA roofers run lower per-square pricing; the math typically reflects fewer underlayment passes, lighter starter-course detail, or no photo-documentation overhead. We do not match those scopes because we do not run those scopes.
  5. We do not work on roof-adjacent scopes outside our wheelhouse. Gutter installation and gutter-guard projects, full siding replacement, framing reconstruction, and interior water-damage remediation route to specialist trades we coordinate with. We will recommend qualified partners; we will not stretch a roof crew into a trade we are not credentialed for.

About Epic FAQs

Who actually owns Epic Roofing? +

Joey Noto. Sole owner, hands-on the business daily, licensed under his name with the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. Not a franchise, not a regional roll-up, not a private-equity-backed brand. The license that's on your project is Joey's personal LA contractor license.

How big is the team? +

Lean by design. Joey runs the consultations and supervises every project. Our office staff handles scheduling, insurance coordination, and project communication. Our install crew runs every job from start to finish — we do not subcontract. The exact crew count varies seasonally with project volume; the Epic Roofing crew remains the same for every job.

How long has Epic Roofing been in business? +

Epic Roofing was founded in 2020 in Mandeville. Joey's underlying construction experience runs twenty-plus years — LSU Construction Management 2006, a decade running commercial construction projects in Baton Rouge before founding Epic Roofing. The business is six years old; the construction discipline behind it is twenty-plus.

Why "family-built" rather than franchise or acquired roll-up? +

Because that is the accurate description. Epic Roofing is a family-built Louisiana company — not a national franchise, not a regional roll-up acquired by an out-of-state holding group, not a brand built on a designation Joey does not hold. The framing is what is true, not what marketing trends suggest we should claim.

How do I verify Epic's credentials before hiring? +

Three quick checks. Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors website verifies the LA licenses. IBHS FORTIFIED-evaluator directory verifies the FORTIFIED credentials. CertainTeed, Atlas, McElroy Metal, and DaVinci Roofscapes each publish authorized-installer directories where Epic Roofing appears. Or call (225) 819-3742, and we will send the credential package directly.
