Roof Repair in Baker, LA
Repairs for Baker homes at the ridge, the walls, the vent pipes and the deck, inspected free and priced in writing before any work starts.
Before he started Epic Roofing in 2020, Joey Noto managed commercial construction jobs in Baton Rouge for a decade, and Epic runs roof repair the way a job site runs: inspect, write it down, then build. On a Baker house, the inspection is free, and nothing on the roof is opened until you have the scope in writing.
What Baker's Records Say About Its Roofs
Census estimates put the median Baker home at about 1979. Roughly a quarter of the city's housing was built in the 1970s and about a fifth in the 1980s. A roof on a house that age may have seen more than one covering, so the shingle up there today may not be the one the house was built with, and finding a match is part of the estimate.
On November 3, 2010, a funnel cloud dropped low over the city, and tin was reported blown off a roof. Penny-size hail was reported in Baker in 2009 and again in 2021.

Four Places Baker Repairs Happen
Along the ridge and the rakes:
Gusts get their grip at the edges first, and small hail can bruise shingles there as anywhere else. Lifted, cracked, or bruised shingles and ridge caps there are swapped for pieces from your roof's product line, or the nearest substitute if that line is gone, with photos of each patch.
Where the roof meets a wall or chimney:
Step flashing and counterflashing that have slipped or lost their seal are removed, and new metal cut to suit the shingle is bedded in a sealant approved by the manufacturer.
Around the vent pipes:
A cracked boot at a plumbing vent is one of the most common small repairs: the old collar comes off, a new one goes on, and the surrounding shingles are relaid over it.
Beneath a long-running leak:
We photograph the soft plywood first, then cut out the damaged section and fit new sheathing, with fresh underlayment and shingles closing it in. A deck that sags between rafters, or a ridge that has pulled apart, is a structural problem, and the roof work waits until a Louisiana-licensed structural engineer has assessed it.
Five Steps on a Baker Repair
Your call:
Tell us what you have seen and where. We book the free inspection at a time that suits you.
The drone pass:
Every slope is photographed from above, so the problem area can be judged against the rest of the roof.
The attic and the meter:
Where there is access, we look at the underside of the deck. If the house has a history of leaks, infrared and moisture readings help locate wet wood the camera cannot see.
The written estimate:
The written scope reaches you 2–5 business days after we visit: parts, labor and warranty terms, with anything else we noticed priced separately so you can add it now or put it off. The consultation comes with no deposit.
Repair, sweep and warranty:
Epic's crew, with no subcontractors, makes the repair, protects plantings where needed and runs a magnet over the yard before leaving. Before and after photos go into your CompanyCam album, and the signed workmanship warranty is sent by email. Its length is fixed in the scope, and it is shorter than our five-year replacement coverage.
Baker Repair Pricing
Fastening down and resealing a lifted run of tabs on one rake, or replacing the flashing along one wall, is single-issue work at $400 to $1,800. A repair that covers two or more parts of the roof, or that requires replacing softened decking, is quoted at $2,000 to $5,000.
Worn shingles across most of the roof are better handled by roof replacement in Baker. A named storm or tornado changes the job: shingles torn off and deck broken by wind are storm damage roof repair in Baker.
Questions From Baker Homeowners
Our Baker roof had a patch put on years ago. Will you redo it or work around it?
That depends on how the old patch is holding. If it is sealed and the shingles around it are sound, we leave it alone and say so in the report. If it is lifting, leaking or set in a product that no longer matches, the estimate prices replacing it as a separate line, so you can decide whether to fold it into this repair.
Penny-size hail was reported here in 2009 and 2021. What can stones that small do?
Not much to a sound roof. The concern is older shingles, where even small stones can knock loose granules that were already thinning, and dents in gutters or vent hoods can hint at what the shingles took. Dated photos of every slope, taken soon after the storm, are useful if you later speak with your insurer. Filing is up to you; Epic does not file or negotiate claims.
Another company put our roof on. Can Epic still repair it?
Yes. We identify the product, repair it using materials and methods approved by the manufacturer, and tell you during the inspection whether the original installer's warranty has already lapsed.
If a later storm damages the repaired area, does the repair warranty cover it?
The workmanship warranty covers our work on the repaired area. New damage from a later storm is a separate matter, and we can document it the same way we documented the first repair.
How can we help before the inspection visit?
Clear a path to the attic hatch if there is one, and jot down when any stain appears: after every rain, or only during a hard, wind-driven one. That pattern helps us look in the right place. Please stay off the roof; the drone covers it.
Get Your Baker Repair Inspection Booked
Call 225-396-8122 and tell us what you found: a cap in the grass, a brown ring on a ceiling or flashing that has pulled away from a wall. Each of those clues points the inspection at one spot, and nothing on a Baker roofing job is opened until you hold the written scope.
